findSimilar 'Steals the Styles' at New York Fashion Week
New York fashion week went by like a whirlwind and there were some serious cases of style envy! When events go by so quickly, it can be difficult to take in everything you see and remember it. There were so many trends that we loved and will love to wear! Some of our favourites included A line skirts and yellow.
What was refreshing this fashion week was the way the colours are worn. We’ve seen pastels and yellows before but the NY catwalks styled them with monochrome patterns. In particular is this yellow skirt worn with a black and white jumper. Because it can be so hard to go home and search for the items to recreate the look, we simply just snapped the outfit and findSimilar showed us how we could shop the look straight from the catwalk!
Whilst designers are now offering the option to shop from their catwalks, and Twitter introduces their ‘buy now’ button for Burberry’s tweets, we don’t all have Carrie Bradshaw’s credit card! So findSimilar shows you lots of similar results, which allows you to choose the ones that suit you and your bank account!
Of course it’s not just the looks on the catwalk that we want, but the outfits of the fashionistas who are attending! You take a photo of your favourite street styles, but if you use findSimilar, it’ll show you how you can buy that outfit. Perfect.
Here are some of the looks that we wanted to shop straight after we attended New York Fashion Week…
We shopped the trends from the Giulietta show using the Style Thief app - pastel perfection!
We 'Stole the Style' of US blogger by snapping her outfit and using findSimilar - we found her exact dress, the cloud printed design is available from Choies.
Although this Giulietta catwalk piece won't hit the high street for a few more months, we uploaded our fashion show pics to the findSimilar plugin and can shop the tailored pink looks from various hughstreet outlets!
Have you been using findSimilar at fashion week?

E-Commerce Focus : Gary Pepper
An e-commerce store and blog named Gary
Pepper has been striving through seemingly over-crowded blogs and e-commerce
sites and Nicole Warne who launched Gary Pepper, has become one of the
country’s most well respected and in-demand personal style bloggers. Along with
her impeccable sense of style, along with her impeccable sense of style, strong
business acumen and legion of devoted fans, Nicole Warne is a force to be
reckoned with. Fashion leaders such as Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana
are also knocking at her door for partnerships.
When Gary Pepper was just unveiled, Nicole
Warne described her style as being heavily influenced by vintage fashion, but
this has been evolved overtime. Began Gary Pepper she described her style as
being heavily influenced by vintage, but this has evolved over time. She
described her current style as follow during an interview: “It is pretty,
preppy and elegant. I like to mix my vintage wardrobe with designer pieces to
create an interesting and unique aesthetic. I love playing with different
lengths, colors and textures but I don't like to overcomplicate things. My
style mantra? Less is always more”.
Gary Pepper has built a loyal following and
currently boasts an impressive 131,000
Facebook fans and 672,000 Instagram followers,
but it is the degree to which her fans engage with the blog that she is most
proud of. All these merits come along the way with Warne’s strategic mindset:
“Bloggers can get paid to Instagram about a bag of cookies but I would never
work with a brand that I didn’t feel was aligned with the aesthetic and values
of Gary Pepper. After all, the industry is just too small to have worked with
everyone within a few years.”

Trend Alert! findSimilar loves Anoraks
It’s reaching that time where we’re thinking about transitioning into our Autumn/winter wardrobe! There’s more drizzle and clouds and that pretty little sundress is no longer suitable. The latest a/w trend is both practical and fun with an element of nostalgia. Remember that anorak? Get it back out! Anoraks are the jacket and raincoat of the season and should be worn to add a pop of colour to your Autumn wardrobe! We’d usually reach for the more autumnal tones, but not this time, think fluorescent green and orange.
You can style them directly over your chosen outfits, whether that’s the last of your Summer dresses or that start of your Autumn jumpers. It’ll brighten up any earthy outfit and any drizzly day! It’d be great to pair your anorak with some bright wellies, we love the yellow metallic Hunters. By using findSimilar, you can search for your perfect anorak to find the exact colour or pattern that you want! Such a fun way to shop for your wardrobe!
